The huge number of added substances accessible additionally makes it hard to connect explicit added substances with side effects. The best quality level for examining the relationship between food added substances and unfriendly responses in kids is a twofold blinded, randomized fake treatment controlled test. In spite of improved approach of later examinations, the general connection between these two factors has neglected to be plainly settled. Following a time of added substance free eating routine, the youngsters were tested every day with drinks containing tartrazine and dusk yellow for 12 days. Out of the 19 kids who finished the examination, just three kids were found to have worsening of manifestations, which demonstrated a causal relationship with substances in the test drinks. The study of disease transmission In 1997, Young et al (1) led a populace concentrate in Wycombe to discover the pervasiveness of food added substance narrow mindedness. An aggregate of 30000 individuals were overviewed, of which 7.4% of the individuals who reacted guaranteed a response to food added substances. Of the 649 were met for investment in the investigation, 132 were chosen to partake. The subjects were given a low and high portion challenge of added substances or fake treatment (lactose) disguised in obscure cases. Factual investigation of the outcomes gave a gauge of 0.01-0.23% predominance of food added substance narrow mindedness in the Wycombe populace. Fuglsang et al (3) played out a comparative report in Denmark however took a gander at youngsters who were alluded to pediatric hypersensitivity facilities for manifestations of urticaria, asthma, dermatitis or rhinitis, and found the rate of narrow mindedness of food added substances to be 2% (6/335) on twofold blinded test of added substances. Pathophysiology The component of food added substance narrow mindedness isn't obviously characterized. Supramaniam and Warner (4) had negated the then-held view that modified prostaglandin creation was capable as a response can be actuated in headache medicine delicate patients, since anti-inflamatory medicine prejudice was remarkable in their investigation. Food added substances and urticaria Counterfeit food added substances, especially tartrazine and benzoates (1) have been appeared to trigger urticarial responses in kids in numerous investigations led in the course of the most recent three decades. One of the initial hardly any solid investigations to develop was by Supramaniam and Warner (4). They assessed 43 youngsters who gave angioedema as well as utricaria and had reacted to an added substance free eating routine in a twofold blinded investigation. These kids were tested with different food added substances including tartrazine (E102), nightfall yellow (E110), amaranth (E123), indigo carmaine (E132), carmoisine (E122), sodium benzoate and sodium metabisulphite.â 24 of the 43 kids were found to have responded to at least 1 of the added substances. Food added substances and atopic skin inflammation No very much controlled examinations have been performed to research the cases that food added substances can instigate atopic dermatitis until Van Bever et al (5) played out a twofold visually impaired fake treatment controlled test in 25 youngsters with extreme atopic skin inflammation. In all the youngsters, an intensive history was acquired connecting food consumption with intensifications of skin inflammation. Moreover, their dermatitis was inadequately controlled notwithstanding the utilization of topical creams and steroids. All the youngsters were admitted to emergency clinic and were taken care of an essential eating routine by means of a nasogastric tube (NG cylinder) and 1 fourteen days after this treatment, an improvement in the childrens’ skin was clear, with the end goal that they were practically liberated from dynamic dermatitis injuries. The over two investigations have neglected to exhibit a critical connection between food added substances and skin inflammation, albeit both had assessed fundamentally tartrazine, so responses to different sorts of food shading might not have been tried. Effects Of Physical Geography On Latin America - 1763 Words

This essay, firstly, will look at to what extent physical geography has affected Latin America in terms of economic growth. Secondly, it will focus on the other possible factors which have affected its economic growth. There has been much debate over the cause with some stating that geography is the culprit while others blame more social aspects such as politics and political instability, inequality, and educational attainment. This essay will attempt to evaluate to what extent these claims are true. Agriculture is arguably the main focus of discussion when considering the geographical cause of low economic development. The different climate and soil conditions in tropical ecological zones (Gallup et al., 2003, p.32), mean there is less†¦show more content†¦natural disasters). Gallup et al. (2003, pp.41, 46) have estimated that natural disasters in Latin America over the last 30 years have cost up to $3.3 billion and in extreme disasters costs can reach 10 per cent of a country’s GDP. This, coupled with the fact that they suffer regularly from natural disasters due to their location, means that they find it harder to recover from them. The destruction of crops causes vast economic loss which cannot be regained as farmers rely on monoculture. Furthermore, many buildings in developing countries are often built from weak materials which causes mass destruction and costly re-construction which these countries cannot afford. In addition, diseases such as Hookworm and Malaria–brought to Latin America through colonisation and slavery–cause economic problems to this day. According to Hausmann (2009): â€Å"countries at a high risk of malaria grow 0.6 per cent slower than countries free from malaria†. Exports can be affected such as during the Cholera outbreak in Peru in 1991 which cost the fishing industry $800 million (Hausmann, 2009). It also increases healthcare costs and reduces worker productivity (Hausmann, 2009). Presently, resistance means that cheap medications for treatment of and protection from malaria are becoming less effective (Gallup et al., 2003, p.135). Modern Day Cinderella Story Free Essays

My Modern-Day Cinderella Story P3 Language Arts It was pouring outside. Not just pouring, that word doesn’t suffice how much water was aimlessly falling from the sky and crashing to the ground with every footstep that Ella Kess took on her way home. Today was the day that seven years ago her parents died in a plane crash over the Atlantic Ocean. We will write a custom essay sample on Modern Day Cinderella Story or any similar topic only for you Order Now It was strange, how she had to live on after the death, but she pulled through with the help of her best friend Kylee Lainer. She would have been okay this year too but they were not friends anymore. They had grown up together, friends since age three but when they reached high school Kylee became a different person, got new friends, and left Ella alone. After their breakup as BFFLs, Ella’s so called friends dropped like flies. She figured it was because they liked Kylee not her, but this didn’t bother Ella, she never liked them anyway. She reached her uncles condo right before the thunder started to roar. She dashed in the building and walked right over to the elevator without bothering to say hello to the front desk manager, Gary, who had been her mentor since her parent’s death. He was an older guy, probably in his 70’s, but he knew a lot and told her stories of when he was a child and these things kept her calm. She knew he would understand that she didn’t want to talk. Ella pushed the up button and the elevator doors opened. She walked in and saw Drew Hawthorne. Drew just wasn’t ANY guy, she had liked him ever since he stole her crayons in kindergarten. He threw a lopsided smile in her way and said â€Å"hey†. â€Å"Hi† was the best she could muster. Conversation wasn’t her thing, especially right here, right now. The trip from the lobby up to the penthouse level seemed like it would go on forever. Drew had lived in the other penthouse since about the time her parents died. Ella was convinced that one day they would get married and have three children, two girls and one boy. She had already named them anyway. Her fairytale ended right when the Kylee, knowing that Ella and Drew we’re in the pre-dating stage (in other words, neither of them we’re planning on asking the other out), asked Drew out herself. Kylee and Drew are still going out. The elevator finally made it to the top level of the high end condos and made a stop. â€Å"See you around. , Ella,† Drew said. â€Å"Um, yeah. Have a nice weekend,† Ella replied trying to sound cheerful and happy. Tonight was the fairy queen parade. She never bothered to enter the contest, she just enjoyed watching the catty girls bring each other’s confidence down and argue over what color lipstick looks best on who. This year was going to be even more interesting because her two step-cousins, Regina and Carly, we’re entering. She would have too, but they made it clear that that wasn’t happening anytime soon. She walked past the kitchen and grabbed an apple on the way to her room. Her room was her sanctuary, her favorite place in the whole entire world. It had amazing views of the city, Seattle, and from here she could pretend that she was on top of the world. â€Å"Can you like stop being so depressed, Ella. I swear to god if you ruin this weekend for Regina and me, you will suffer,† Carly hissed at her on the way to her own room. â€Å"Carly, don’t be so mean to her! † Regina snapped. Regina is probably the closest thing to a sister Ella never had. She can be mean, but hey, at least she tries to be her friend. â€Å"Carly, chill. I’m not even entering and even if I was I doubt I would win,† Ella yelled to Carly down the hall. Regina came in and sat on her bed. Ella, I know that you just want to feel like you belong†¦ and you do,† Regina said trying to cover up any of the pain she sees on Ella’s face. â€Å"Yeah, whatever. † She shot back, knowing that she’ll get the signal. Ella didn’t want to talk. As she sat and thought about how much she wanted to enter, the desire got greater. Only one problem†¦ she didn’t have a thing. She decided to go down to the lobby and ask Gary for advice. He would surely know what to do in a situation like this. â€Å"Hey Gary,† she said while trying to decided how to ask about all this without sounding needy. I need†¦ a favor. † â€Å"Hello there dear! Finally decided to enter the contest, eh? I knew you would and that is exactly why old Gary made a couple of calls and got you everything you needed, And remember kid, you go out there and win that thing and Drew will be yours. † It’s like he read her mind. He knew exactly what she needed and why. This is why she liked Gary so much. But how’d he know about Drew? â€Å"Gary, thank you so much. But, how’d you know about Drew? † â€Å"It’s extremely obvious. Now run along! † and with that he handed her a large box. She got back up to her room and with excitement bubbling in her blood she threw open the lid. Her mouth dropped. She reached in and pulled out the most beautiful blue dress her emerald eyes had ever seen. It wasn’t just any dress; it fit her body like a glove. The dark blue satin shined as she walked over to her mirror. The dress was elegant from head to toe. She walked back over to her bed and looked inside the box, discovering the silver heels, diamond necklace, and blue hair pin. This must have been Gary’s wife’s clothing. She died of cancer awhile back†¦ Ella guessed he never really got over it. â€Å"I look like a princess,† Ella thought aloud. She knew it was time to go now or she would miss the whole thing so she grabbed her mom’s silver shawl and headed out. Once she got to the parade, any bit of confidence she might have had, vanished. She didn’t know a thing about being pretty and she sure as heck wasn’t going to start learning now. â€Å"No. I’m not doing this,† Ella said to herself. But it was too late. From across the street she saw Carly and the other girls looking straight at her, the envy clear in their eyes. â€Å"GET OUT OF HERE!!! † screamed Carly. Gasps and awes escaped the mouths of the jealous contestants and Ella knew she needed to leave right then. She turned on her heels and ran, tears streaming down her face. She got so flustered and so panicked that to prevent her from being there any longer, took down her hair and threw her heels and blue hair pen on the sidewalk. She didn’t care who found them. And then she heard a voice. â€Å"Ella! Wait, stop running! † the voice yelled. She immediately recognized it as Drew’s. Her Drew. She looked back, tears now streaming down her face and gave him the best smile she could. And then she was gone. The next morning, Ella woke up to the sound of Carly’s voice drifting in from the kitchen. â€Å"I can’t believe she showed up AND ACTUALLY LOOKED PRETTY! † Carly yelled â€Å"Well, you know it was bound to happen. I saw Drew looking the whole time. I went over there this morning and he said that he found a blue pin and silver shoes. He’s confident they belong to her, after all he went psycho on Facebook messaging almost every girl. † Regina said. â€Å"He was looking for me† Ella thought. The next morning Ella decided to go down to Starbucks. She headed out into the hallway and pushed the down button. And there he was, Drew, leaning calmly against the elevator railing. â€Å"Great,† Ella said under her breath. â€Å"You looked beautiful, Ella. I don’t know why you left,† And with that he pulled out the silver shoes and blue pin from behind his back. â€Å"I believe these are yours, are they not? † Drew said flashing his lopsided smile. â€Å"Uh, yeah thank you† Ella stammered. â€Å"I broke up with Kylee† Drew choked out. And in that moment when they were both staring at each other intently, Drew realized she was his Cinderella and he was her Prince Charming. â€Å"I’ll buy you that drink if you be my girlfriend,† Drew teased. The End How to cite Modern Day Cinderella Story, Essay examples

The Story Of Frankenstein By Mary Shelley Is About A Man Who Created S

The story of Frankenstein by Mary Shelley is about a man who created something that messes with nature, and nature came back to mess with him because nature is more powerful than man. Victor Frankenstein was very interested in natural philosophy and chemistry and basically tried to play G-d by creating life. When he found the secret of activating dead flesh, he created a superhuman being composed of rotted corpses. What he did was considered unthinkable, and he was haunted by his own creation. When the monster escaped, Frankenstein knew that he had to deal with the consequences of what the monster might do. Frankenstein received a letter one day which informed him of his younger brother William's murder, and immediately suspected that he was responsible, for he was the creator of the hideous monster. A friend of the family named Justine Moritz was the "presumed" murderer, and Frankenstein was determined to prove her innocent. Circumstantial evidence, however, led the courts to believ e Justine guilty, because found in her pocket was a photograph which had belonged to William. Justine had been put to death, and Frankenstein had yet to find his creation. Finally, upon their meeting, the monster confessed to his creator of what he had been through, how he was rejected by society, and finally, how he had come to kill William. When William had revealed his name to the monster, the monster immediately figured that by killing the young boy, he would have revenge on Frankenstein for giving him life. The monster did not understand the concept of right and wrong and he especially didn't mean to kill anybody. His expression of anger ended up being violent, even fatal to the victim, and it just worked out that he killed people. As the monster's story continued, he demanded of Frankenstein a female mate who he can be with until his end, and promised to live away from society. Frankenstein, meanwhile, tried to restore the monster's demented mind so he could live a normal life . Although at first Frankenstein agreed to create a friend for the monster, he changed his mind for fear that between the two of them, his life, as well as many others, would be in danger. The creature wanted revenge, and so everything important in Frankenstein's life ended up being destroyed, including his wife and best friend.

Autobiography I am just another ordinary seventeen year old girl who has many dreams of going to college and becoming a success. I have always been and consider myself to be a homebody. Not because I choose to, but because whenever my mom goes out, I am the one that has to stay home and watch my nieces and nephews who live at home with us. Definitely use the or a

Definitely use the or a Definitely use the or a Definitely use the or a By Michael When to use the indefinite article a and when to use the definite article the depends mostly on how specific you want to be. During a wedding ceremony the groom would say, Give me the ring! The wedding ring! because he must have a particular ring, while a carpenter would say, Hand me a nail because he doesnt care which nail in the box he uses. Usually the bigger problem is not whether to use a definite or indefinite article, but whether to use an article at all. So many choices! When do you use a? When do you use an? When do you use the? But relax. Well guide the way. We already talked about when to use a when to use an in the article Give me an A: a vs. an, but well give you a few more examples here. A: you use this when youre not necessarily referring to a specific thing (such as a nail, any nail). Its called an indefinite article, because youre not being definite or particular. There are many nails in this big world. She owns a cat. I work on a golf course. An: its used just like a, but when preceding a vowel sound. It probably comes from Old German, on which Old English was based. My theory is that the use of an survives after all these centuries because it sounds better before vowels. Saying, I want a apple sounds odd, compared to, I want an apple. For the same reason, the fake French sentence, Anne, on en a un, sounds even more odd. May I borrow an egg? He is an arrogant critic. The: youre talking about a definite item, which is why the is called a definite article. Of course it only makes sense if both you and your listeners know which item you mean. If I commanded you, Give me the money, you would rightfully ask, What money? I dont owe you any money. The house on that corner once belonged to Charles Dickens. The weather is very pleasant today. You can use the the second time you refer to something, even if you used an the first time. We know what youre referring to, because you just told us. You can do this, but I wouldnt recommend it. Read these examples repeating the noun might sound monotonous. We visited a palace on our vacation. The palace was built in 1546. We also went to a concert. The concert was too loud for me. When it comes to geography, you dont use the before the names of most nations, provinces, states, lakes or islands. But there are many exceptions: the United States, the Ukraine, or the Congo. On the other hand, the Ukrainians and Congolese people Ive met say, Ukraine and Congo, so go figure. If the name refers to plural items, such as the United States, or the Maldives, you would use the definite article. You would do the same for rivers and oceans, such as the Amazon, the Nile, and the Caspian Sea. Bays need the definite article. He moved to Nepal near Mount Everest. They spent their honeymoon in eastern Maine, on Penobscot Bay. Unlike some languages such as French and Spanish, English sometimes does not use any article at all. You dont need one when making a general statement, or when talking about meals and transportation. I prefer folk music. She hates making noodles. She eats breakfast at home. She traveled to college by train. British writers dont use an article for some places that Americans would. British: I go to university. American: I go to college. American: I transfered to the university last year. British: I felt so ill that I went to hospital. American: I got so sick I had to go to the hospital. Some rules apply all the time. Some rules apply only in certain situations, and only experience and reading can help you get them all right. And some rules apply only in certain situations in certain cultures: British and American English is sometimes different, as you may have learned by now. Analyze - Essay Example In the first story, Graduation by Maya Angelou, the author tends to explain an array of emotional turmoil that the protagonist undergoes; she is a young girl belonging to an African American race thus making her skin tone black as compared to the other white students in her classroom. The story is set in the 1940s, the year which she is to graduate and at the final graduation day speech, her heart begins to flutter as she listens to one of her professors speak proudly about the â€Å"white students† as he goes on and on about how they will prosper and become the next generation of famous scientists, architects, artists and politicians of the country. He completely undermined the feelings of those students that belonged to other races and in this manner discriminated against them; the young girl felt disappointment, anger, sadness and then pride within herself during the course of the speech. When the valedictorian, a young classmate by the name of Reed gave his speech, he trie d to encourage those that had been left out and the girl felt happy that there were some people who thought differently. She made it a point to be proud of her background instead of being angry at the professor; she understood that people would probably discriminate against her in the long run in life however she motivated herself to do extremely well in life and not hear their taunts. She thus overcame her challenge by moving on and not thinking about things that people say who do not even matter. The second beautiful piece, ‘A Hole in the Wall’ by Andrea Barrett is a wonderful account of a couple moving into Brooklyn to spend their lives with each other. The author talks about the shoddy surroundings where they took up a dwelling however the love and affection with which she had begun to care for the place; with time, she began to overcome her fear of living in a less luxurious place and gave in

IR Spectroscopy determination of xylene using an internal standard Essay

IR Spectroscopy determination of xylene using an internal standard - Essay Example This will be used to show the various concentrations of the m-xylene and p-xylene in the unknown sample. Infrared spectroscopy is the spectroscopy that uses the infrared region of the electromagnetic spectrum, which is a region of lower wavelength than visible light, exciting molecules to higher vibrational states in order to detect energy of the vibrational modes in your sample. The infra-red radiation is passed through a sample by an infra-red spectrometer which uses a detector to represent the transmission in graphical representations. Infra-red spectroscopy can be used to study virtually every sample in any state of matter and the IR spectrometer utilizes FTIR spectroscopy which has improved the infrared spectra quality within a short time of analysis. This technique has been in existence since 1940’s where the instruments relied on prisms as the elements to disperse the radiations but further development has occurred which include the diffraction gratings and finally the most significant the use of interferometers and Fourier-transformation mathematical process. Infrared sp ectroscopy can be used a number of ways, one of which is based on absorption spectroscopy. Isomers of organic molecules display a unique vibrational frequency; thus by analyzing a specific region of the spectrum, overlaying pure and different concentrations of a sample molecule as well as any background spectra it is possible to determine the concentration of an unknown sample From the results the concentration of p-xylene and m-xylene in the two samples was determine using the Fourier transform infrared spectrometer using the internal standards. It was observed it is possible to calculate the exact concentration of both p-xylene and m-xylene in the samples if the exact concentration of the stock solution used is known. This determines their

The Trader Joes Marketing Plan Marketing Essay

The Trader Joes Marketing Plan Marketing Essay Trader Joes is one of the most successful grocery store chains in United States. The brand started as a small convenience store in Los Angeles and has grown to be one of the most recognizable brands selling organic and high quality products. The trademark difference between Trader Joes from their competitions, especially Whole Food Market, is stocking and selling the product produced by Trader Joes. By that, they have responsibility on their product and they do not need to pay the fee to any manufactures, or third party companies, so they will keep the price at affordable for the customer. It is undeniable that Trade Joe is widely recognized as one of Americas successful and trustworthy brands. However, due to the high cost of living, consumers today are watching their budget. Through this marketing plan, we want to make Trader Joes a well-known grocery store in youth adult market not only by the high quality product but also by the affordable price to bring in customers, and to successful in the new segment. Introduction The owner, Joe Coulombe, opened trader Joes in 1958 in Pasadena, California. At that time, Trader Joes were named Pronto Markets, the popular convenience stores at that time. In the following decades, Trader Joes expanded to locations throughout the United States. Trader Joes recent annual earnings were estimated to be $9.5 billion in sale in fiscal 2012 (ends June), up about $1 billion from a year earlier. In order to generate such a return of profit, Trader Joes has been using all means to keep down expenses, such as implementing no service departments which may reduce renting costs. Trader Joes sells all types of food and non-food items and is well-known for more than two thousands private-label products under its brand name, which counts for about 70% of the annual sale. Not only selling daily consumed food such as freshly picked and organic fruits and vegetables, bread, milk, juices, Trader Joes also provides other frozen or ready-to-serve products. For instance: spreads, gourmet cheese, frozen meat and other ethnic food ranging from Italian, Hispanic to Chinese, Indian etc. Nonfood items are available as well, such as Trade Joes soap, vitamins, lotions and creams. With alcohol selling permit, like other grocery stores, Trade Joes also carries beer and wine. One of its most famous selections is its wine brand Charles Shaw, which is often called as Two Buck Chuck, because of affordable price. Nowadays, with almost 400 stores across the country, Trade Joes has made its company image as high quality food, a one-stop for all with full of shopping ease and conveniences. Marketing Analysis TARGET MARKET Targeting at office professionals aged 18 to mid-40s with annual income around $35,000 to $60,000 as primary market; Trader Joe is looking at consumers who are in the middle stage of their life. Those would be more ecologically conscious about healthiness of the food they consume. This target market tends to eat locally and spends more on groceries. A lot of them are vegetarians and require their food to be gluten-free. The above primary group is finalized as Trade Jose company adding two sub-groups when studying their target market. The first sub-group is young professionals and the second one is the current target demographics of the growing multinational population and people who tend to buy food from vending machines Trade Joes also plans to have a secondary target market of those born between the early 1980s to early 2000s. This generation is considered in the marketing plan because they are most likely willing to buy healthy and organic products. Since this young population has been adapted to nowadays fast-paced life, they are more critical with time and demand more convenience. CONSUMER/SOCIAL FACTOR On current movement, people prefer the organic and healthy food and they support local business, local farmer market. They willing to go for unique or store brand instead of big brand names as long as it promote healthy products, ingredients, and ethical, green production process. In other hand, the customer now prepares for them enough knowledge about nutrition, so they are so picky on their choice. Moreover, due to the high living cost, the customer also watches their budget for grocery. COMPETITIVE FACTOR The primary competitor of Trader Joes is Whole Food market. Marketing Plan Trader Joes is successful in United States by their high quality product and good service. However, Trader Joes needs specifically targeted marketing goals and strategies in order to succeed in target customer. MARKETING OBJECTIVE Through the marketing plan, Trader Joes will reach their target customer through social media. Moreover, this plan will help the company raise their awareness in new adult, from 18 to 33 years old market by 30 percent over six months period through social media and advertising. MARKETING RESEARCH Trader Joes does not use any kind of advertising form. The company follows their low profile in core philosophy; they eschew advertising agencies and television completely. Trader Joes use their employee and customer serves as an ambassador of the brand, or using the Word by Mouth strategy. Therefore, the company leans on the current customer database and however, they are attracting the new customer in a passive way, especially the young adult who uses social media regularly. PRICING For competitively with other competitors, Trader Joes should have a good pricing strategy. This strategy would keep their product at a competitive price but still have a quality of the product. For some product like grocery, base on the local farm, we can use the discount, or the sale to make the price lower than competitors. SALE PROMOTION For attracting more customers, Trader Joes would have weekly sale promotion in store, and post in the Facebook or Twitter or do The Fearless Flyer. The unique of the Fearless Flyer is in that flyer, Trader Joes not only consists the advertising of their in store promotion at that moment, but also include the recipe, the tips for cooking. Therefore, the customer when receive that flyer, they tend to read a whole flyer and keep it if they think it useful. PUBLIC RELATIONS One of the primaries of Trader Joes, the Whole Food Market is very good in public relation. They donate their food in the local food bank every week, and of course, they receive the award and certificate for that good will. However, if Trader Joes step in this charity, it would be late, and it doesnt help to increase the fame. So I would recommend another plan, like support the after school program, the senior living or sponsor for some organization like breast cancer, marathon 2Kà ¢Ã¢â€š ¬Ã‚ ¦ Our target market is a youth adult, who cares about their environment and social. So if we keep doing this strategy, I believe that we will catch their attention and bring more customers to our store because they will realize that their spending money would help them back by our program support for their children, their parent or their grandparents. INTERNET/SOCIAL MEDIA Our target is the youth adult, who was born in the technology decade, and the best way to catch their attention is using their own way. They using Facebook or Twitter like the primary way to communicate with each other. The first thing is Trader Joes have to open social media account. Then for attracting they follow us on Facebook or Twitter; Trader Joe should release any coupon or special sale in store and if they want to get these coupons, they have to follow or like the fan page. By that, we will have a fan on social media, and for any update, any news from Trader Joes, this fan base would the first one who receive that news and expand it. Moreover, Trader Joe website and fan page can build awareness about its own brand by updating the social support, the new product, or any helpful information like recipe and nutrition chart for the product. Executing and Implementing the Marketing Plan BUDGET ALLOCATION Trader joes company. (2013). (). Austin, United States, Austin: Dun and Bradstreet, Inc. In this essay I will attempt to analyze the artwork named â€Å"Beguiling Lure â€Å" by Isaac Talley , 2009. The medium of this artwork is acrylic and oil on canvas. The composition is simple with the main focus being a dangling object and a portrait of a single bird. The multi coloring of the background is bright and soft with dark and light hues. The artist was able to deliver the paint onto the canvas in different directions and angles which gives the appearance of overlapping colors, roughness and an uneven texture. There is a small horizontal space that has been left blank and untouched in the middle of the canvas that provides a dividing line separating the upper portion of the painting from the lower portion. Even though there is no similarities in the main two subjects in the painting the artist brings balance, proportion and unity to his work by using the same background colors and patterns from top to bottom. The eye is automatically drawn towards two specific areas on the canvas and directly to the middle upper portion of the painting where a circular white object is attached to a dark blue string of yarn that hangs from a peg at the top of the canvas. In the bottom right corner a is a painting of a black bird standing with its back to the viewer as it looks towards the hanging object. I think the painting is a form of expression in which the intention is to give the viewer an increased awareness of how we have become a materialistic society. Because of our increased desire for the better things in life it is easier to allow ourselves to become distracted and lose sight of what is truly important in life. As a society we want to strive to be better in everything we do. In the past our american culture has taught us right from wrong, to love God and country and to stand true to our families. The importance of those morals and values seem to have disappeared. The black bird or raven can be a positive symbol of mankind’s desire to be moral and spiritually correct and the white dangling object or the â€Å"lure† an example of the opposite, a representation of those material things of the world that distracts us and has the power if we allow it to strip away our true identity and personally values and change our perceptions on life.

Although he wasnt known in psychology for any other works but natural selection and theory of evolution. Charles Darwin was born on February 12, 1809 in Shrewsbury, England. He was born as the fifth child in a family of six children. Darwins mother and father were Susannah Wedgewood, and Robert Darwin (Famous Scientist, 2018). Charles Darwin grow up in a wealthy family mainly due to his father Robert Darwin, Robert invested money he made in his medical job. So, as Charles Darwin went to school that was paid for by his dad, he didnt really worry about passing of failing his classes because he knew his father would pay for his living (Famous Scientist, 2018). The major reason for Charles laziness in school was that he didnt care for medical school like his dad had before him. However, shortly after his first year of medical school he became interested in zoology. Charles Darwins interest in zoology is the start of his famous career as a scientist. The field of zoology opened Charles up to his legendary Theory of Evolution and Natural Selection. Later in his life when he when on a trip to the Galapagos Islands, he saw multiple types of finch and as he looked at the different characteristics of the types of finch, he noticed they all looked quite similar (BBC, 2014). Darwin also noticed that the finch with the larger beaks where the only ones to survive the droughts of the islands. The finch with the larger beaks surviving is a prime example of Darwins Natural Selection. The larger beak finch could break open harder seeds which the narrow/small beaked finch couldnt, which is why the larger beaked finch survived and narrow/small beaked finch didnt. Which would lead to the evolution of the finch to have larger beaks in hundreds or thousands of years (BBC, 2014). As Charles Darwin was researching the Theory of Evolution, he did research on plants and animals trying to find similar traits within them. In doing so he wrote that humans and animals were descendants of a common ancestor that later became humans and animals today (Kruger, 2009). Since, Darwin stated that Humans and animals had a common ancestor, psychologist study animals to learn more about human behavior. Darwins discovery in evolution changed many thoughts scientist once had and helped psychologist learn more about human beings as well (Kruger, 2009). In conclusion, Charles Darwin was mostly like everyone else in the world except for being born in to a rich family. However, he went to school and figured out that he didnt want to follow in his dads foot steps and finish medical school because it bored him, and he didnt enjoy it. So, he listened to himself and became a scientist which he thoroughly enjoyed. In doing so he followed more so in his grand-fathers foot steps and the world should be grateful he did because without him becoming a scientist we wouldnt have his Theory of Evolution or Natural Selection. Without Theory of Evolution and Natural Selection, Scientist might have taken even longer to figure out that animals and humans share mostly the same genes. Also, Psychologist might not know everything they do now about human beings behavior. So, in all Charles Darwin was well before his time and for that he reshaped the world with his creative thinking and ideas.

The Complexity Of Humanity By Evelyn Glennie Essay

The complexity of humanity itself is unexplainable. Numerous philosophers and scholars have pondered the question â€Å"what makes us human† for decades, however no definite answer has been discovered only philosophies and opinions. Evelyn Glennie’s answer to the vast question takes a unique perspective that is both enlightening and encouraging. Her outlook on what makes us human causes a second thought of what is first assumed when pondering humanity. Physical traits such as the ability to move, see, speak, hear, smell, taste, and feel may be attributes of a human being but is not the answer because many surfer from disabilities that inhibit them from doing these actions but do not make them any less of a human being, which is perfectly exemplified by Evelyn herself. Evelyn proves that the physical senses each human experiences is not the real meaning of the gift. While Evelyn cannot hear through her ears, she is not deaf. She is the only solo percussionist, to maintai n a full time performing career yet has never bragged that she’s accomplished that goal while being deaf because to her, mentally, she is not deaf, in fact she has learned to listen in a deeper way. Because of her disability she has learned the nature of deafness and the nature of hearing. The belief that deaf people live in silence is a misapprehension. She is able to feel the sounds through vibrating air. Evelyn hears by touch the same way someone hears through his or her ears. Her belief is that if everyone
